Discipline Policy for Room 102

Dear Parents,

In order to guarantee your child and all students the excellent learning climate they deserve, I will be utilizing the following behavior plan. I believe that all students can and should behave properly in school. No student should be stopped from learning because of disruptive student. All students are expected to adhere to the school's Discipline Policy, as well, as all classroom policies and rules. Our classroom rules are as follows:

1) Cooperate- Raise your hand/ Work quietly

2) Treat everyone with Respect

3) Be responsible- Be prepared for school each day

4) Show Self-control - Listen attentively/ Stay in your seat

5) Be Generous and Give Service to Others

A verbal warning will be given to those students who choose to disregard these rules. Repeated offenses will have the following consequences:

1) Behavior chart will be checked
2) A Demerit slip will be issued

*****  Three Demerit slips = after school detention
Three detentions = conduct referral (see Handbook)

Verbal warning and repeated offenses will impact a student's conduct grade. Each child will have a behavior chart on the inside back cover of his/her homework copybook that will be completed daily. Students will receive stickers each day provided they have not had any received any "checks", written warnings, etc. At the end of each month, students who behave will be rewarded with treats, prizes, and or privileges.

Please take time to review our school Discipline Policy in the School handbook. The School Handbook is available on the school website under the heading "more". Pull down the menu under "more" and click on Forms/Links to see the Handbook. The website address is www.stcharlesborromeo.com. Discuss these policies and the rules and consequences listed above  with your child. Then, please sign and return the attached form. Thank you for your cooperation.

                                                                                Sincerely,
                                                                                Mrs. De Leon
